BAD - Not good; unfavorable; negative.
BAT - Any of the small, nocturnal, flying mammals of the order Chiroptera, which navigate by means of echolocation. They look like a mouse with membranous wings extending from the forelimbs to the hind limbs or tail. Altogether, there are about 1,000 bat species in the world.

DATE - The fruit of the date palm. This sweet fruit is somewhat in the shape of an olive, containing a soft pulp and enclosing a hard kernel.
DEBT - An action, state of mind, or object one has an obligation to perform for another, adopt toward another, or give to another.
BEAD - A small round object.
BADE - Simple past of bid.
ABATE - To cut away or hammer down, in such a way as to leave a figure in relief, as a sculpture, or in metalwork.
ABATED - Simple past tense and past participle of abate.
