ARK - A large box with a flat lid.
RAW - Of weather: unpleasantly damp or cold.
WAD - An amorphous, compact mass.
WAR - Organized, large-scale, armed conflict between countries or between national, ethnic, or other sizeable groups, usually involving the engagement of military forces.
RAD - Excellent, short for radical.
DARK - Having an absolute or (more often) relative lack of light.
DRAW - To sketch; depict with lines; to produce a picture with pencil, crayon, chalk, etc. on paper, cardboard, etc.
WARD - Protection, defence.
AWARD - A judgment, sentence, or final decision. Specifically: The decision of arbitrators in a case submitted.
AWKWARD - In a backwards direction.
