APP - An application (program), especially a small one designed for a mobile device.

TAP - A tapering cylindrical pin or peg used to stop the vent in a cask; a spigot.
TOP - That part of an object furthest away in the opposite direction from that in which an unsupported object would fall.
APT - Suitable; appropriate; fit or fitted; suited.
OPT - To choose; to select.
PAP - Food in the form of a soft paste, often a porridge, especially as given to very young children.
OAT - Widely cultivated cereal grass, typically Avena sativa.
ALT - A state of excitement, conveyed by a high pitched voice.
LAT - A Latvian coin and national monetary unit.
PLOP - A sound or action like liquid hitting a hard surface.
OPAL - A mineral consisting, like quartz, of silica, but inferior to quartz in hardness and specific gravity, of the chemical formula SiO2·nH2O.
ALTO - A musical part or section higher than tenor and lower than soprano, formerly the part that performed a countermelody above the tenor or main melody.
LAPTOP - A laptop computer.
